1. Prosper commission OKs commercial development
A 13.6-acre commercial development on the northwest corner of Preston Road and Prosper Trail is moving forward following pushback from nearby residents. After 23 residents spoke in opposition to the project, the Prosper Planning and Zoning Commission modified the terms of the application and recommended approval 6-0.

2. Rio Mambo closes in Colleyville
Rio Mambo Tex Mex y Mas in Colleyville has closed its doors, according to a lockout notice on the door. The restaurant, which opened in Colleyville in 2005, served fajitas, enchiladas, chalupas, guacamole and more, per its website.

3. Prosper commission recommends denial of $580 million data center
An application for Project Tomahawk, a $580 million data center proposed for 37.3 acres near the intersection of FM 1385 and Parvin Road, received pushback from Prosper officials. The Prosper Planning and Zoning Commission voted 7-0 to recommend denial of the project at a Sept. 1 meeting.

4. Frisco delays zoning changes for 21-home community near FM 423
Plans for a new 21-home residential community in Frisco are on hold. During an Aug. 25 meeting, the Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission voted to table a zoning change for a 21-home residential community of two-story luxury homes near the intersection of Main Street and FM 423.

5. Chicken Salad Chick to open first Denton location
Chicken Salad Chick will have a brick-and-mortar storefront in Denton in the Rayzor Ranch shopping center. Construction on the fast-casual chicken salad restaurant is expected to begin Sept. 15 and conclude Nov. 1. Chicken Salad Chick serves from-scratch chicken salad options, pimento cheese, soups, salads and sandwiches, according to its website.

6. JPMorgan Chase leases 41,000 square feet at Frisco’s Hall Park
JPMorgan Chase has signed a lease for a new office in Frisco’s Hall Park. The company is expanding its banking teams and leasing a 41,000-square-foot space in the new Tower at Hall Park to serve clients who live and work north of Dallas. According to a company press release, the move is expected to include the hiring of more than 100 new employees.
