1. Food hall The Hub closes at The Farm in Allen
Restaurant and entertainment venue The Hub is closed in Allen, founder and CEO Brad Zeitlin said in an email. The Hub opened in 2022 within mixed-use development The Farm near SH 121. The restaurant offered a variety of food and beverage options, including tacos, chicken fingers, burgers, fries, margaritas, beer and more, per its website.

2. Nighttime US 75 closures planned in Richardson during DART bridge arch installation
Nighttime closures are planned on and around US 75 from July 23-26 while an arch is installed on the Silver Line bridge over the highway. Crews will install a 400-foot decorative steel arch on the north side of the highway. An arch on the south side was installed earlier this summer as part of Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s Silver Line bridge.

3. Patty Lou’s Smashburgers now open in downtown Plano
A new burger place, Patty Lou’s Smashburgers, opened in mid-July in Plano. The latest concept from Urban Family is themed after Patty Lou and the Texas Sweethearts, an all-female western swing group that traveled through US 66 in the late '40s and '50s. Patty Lou’s has fresh-cut fries and offers onion rings from scratch. Customers can also order milkshakes at the restaurant.

4. Check out 5 businesses now closed in Frisco
Check out five businesses that have closed in Frisco this spring and summer. Aveda, which offered health and beauty services and body care, closed its Preston Road location, while comfort food restaurant The Community Grill closed its doors in July.

5. Locally owned Juarez Mexican Restaurant nears 4 decades in downtown McKinney
Longtime McKinney residents Manuel and Adelina Ortega purchased Juarez Mexican Restaurant in 2003 after Manuel’s sisters, Lulu and Monica Ortega—who worked at the restaurant, which has been serving McKinney since 1988—told him the owner was looking to sell. The menu features breakfast items, which are served all day, including chilaquiles, burritos, huevos rancheros and more, as well as a variety of authentic Mexican plates.

6. The Clara Hotel now open in Plano’s Legacy area
A Legacy area hotel along Preston road has officially reopened as The Clara Hotel. The Clara Hotel is part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, which are independent boutique hotels with cultural connections to their locations. The hotel has 176 guest rooms and suites, a restaurant and cocktail bar with an evening lounge, meeting and event spaces, a heated outdoor pool and courtyard according to a news release.
