In early April, Missouri City put recently hired city manager Charles “Tink” Jackson on administrative leave pending an investigation. This action follows the firing of Missouri City’s two previous city managers, all since 2020. 3 Harris County employees face felony indictments in COVID-19 contract case

In the latest development of an investigation into the ethics of a contract awarded by Harris County to do coronavirus vaccine outreach, three senior county employees were recently charged with misuse of official information and tampering with government record. Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo continues to support the employees and has said the charges have no merit, but representatives from the Harris County District Attorney’s office say there was enough evidence to bring criminal charges. Reporter Emily Lincke breaks down the situation.
