One of the
10 constitutional amendments on the ballot for November will the topic of a town hall held by state
Rep. Erin Zwiener, D-Driftwood, and state Rep. Dade Phelan, R-Beaumont, on Oct. 4.
Proposition 8 would create a special flood infrastructure fund using money from the state’s Rainy Day Fund. If passed, it would allow the Texas Water Development Board to use the money for drainage, flood mitigation and flood control projects.
Zwiener and Phelan are seeking public input from constituents about their priorities, according to a news release from Zwiener’s office.
The event will take place from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins St., San Marcos.
