A child care center will open inside the North Dallas Adventist Academy in Richardson after City Council unanimously approved April 22 the applicant's request for a special permit. Canyon Creek Daycare, located at 2800 Custer Parkway, Richardson, will occupy around 7,500 square feet of space inside the school, or less than a quarter of the building's footprint. The facility, which will be open on weekdays from 7 a.m.-6 p.m., will have a maximum enrollment of 95 children between the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years. Most amenities needed for the school, including outdoor and indoor recreation areas, are already in place, since the facility was once used as the Canyon Creek Baptist Church Christian Academy and Learning Center. She has six months to acquire a certificate of obligation for the business, according to the city's zoning ordinance.
