The bar at Gourmand Kitchen on Fry Road in Cypress features several juice options that are blended to order, including Orange Vibes, which mixes sweet fruity flavors with citrus and ginger.

The main ingredients that make up the concoction are apple, pear, carrots, lime and turmeric. The ingredients are blended with a masticating juicer, which stirs up the nutrients to maximize health benefits, said Solange Mariani, Gourmand’s executive chef who came up with the recipe.

The carrots provide Vitamin A, the fruits add fiber and the tumeric boosts the antioxidant capacity of the body, Mariani said.

“The idea was to make a juice with all the health benefits you would want but that was also very palatable,” she said.

Another popular juice at Gourmand is the Super Grin, made with apple, orange, kale, cucumber, ginger and spinach. Both drinks are sold for $7.98.
