What we reported
In May the Public Utility Commission of Texas voted to approve the Lower Colorado River Authority Transmission Services Corp’s LHO-1 transmission line route from Leander to Round Rock. Once complete, the 138-kilovolt lines would connect power substations in Round Rock and Leander to proposed substations in Cedar Park and Leander. The cities of Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander and Georgetown supported route COL-1, which would run along Hero Way and CR 175.
The latest
The city of Cedar Park filed a joint lawsuit with landowner group Burleson Ranch against the commission in October, challenging the commission’s decision for a transmission line to run down Hero Way and Ronald Reagan Boulevard to RM 1431. The decision differed from the recommendation of two administrative law judges who recommended COL-1.
What’s next
A hearing date has yet to be set for the city of Cedar Park and Burleson Ranch’s
lawsuit.
