The River Plantation subdivision, located east of I-45 and north of the West Fork Jan Jacinto River, experienced severe flooding in the days following Hurricane Harvey's landfall on Aug. 25. A time-lapse video submitted to ABC 13 shows home surveillance cameras capturing the flooding event in River Plantation following a record-breaking dam release from the Lake Conroe watershed.

River Plantation was one of several Conroe-area neighborhoods that were placed under recommended evacuation and experienced flooding in the early hours of Aug. 28, including Artesian, Woodhaven Forest, Riverbrook Drive and Sherbrook Drive. Residents of McDade Estates, located north of FM 2854 near the West Fork San Jacinto River, were put under mandatory evacuation on Aug. 28, as well.
