Plans are taking shape for a stretch of undeveloped land near Plano’s border with Frisco, and they involve retail, restaurants, offices and an as-yet-unnamed superstore.
Village 121 developers have not identified which businesses will occupy the land, but Plano Planning and Zoning Commission officials on Monday approved plans outlining the types of businesses that could someday take their place in one of Plano’s most active development corridors.
The property, currently occupied by densely wooded areas in some parts and tall-stalked crops in others, sits southwest of Sam Rayburn Tollway and Preston Road, surrounded by commercial centers in what Plano terms its Legacy business area.
The commission also approved another Legacy-area concept plan for a hotel, retail and a convenience store about a mile southwest of the Preston development, located south of where Tennyson and Communications parkways meet.
