Harris County Precinct 4 hosts a movie night at two local parks this week.

Events in the Spring and Klein area this week include a public meeting with the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County and a monthly chat with local law enforcement.

1. The Houston METRO listening tour stops at the Klein Multipurpose Center, 7500 FM 2920, Spring, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The two-hour meeting provides an opportunity for the public to share ideas for transit service in the region through 2040. www.metronext.org

2. Justin Whited, director of culinary services for Atria Cypresswood, a local senior living community, will challenge David Joseph, a deputy in the Harris County Sheriff’s Department, in a cooking competition at Atria Senior Living’s annual Chef Showdown at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at 6611 Cypresswood Drive, Spring. The competition will involve recipes featuring the summer staple ingredient, corn. The event is free and open to the public. www.atriaseniorliving.com

3. The Spring Klein Chamber of Commerce’s Coffee with a Cop will take place at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the McDonald's restaurant location at 5827 FM 2920, Spring. The monthly meeting provides a chance for the public to talk to local law enforcement about issues in the community.

Harris County Precinct 4 presents a free outdoor screening of the animated movie, “Moana,” along with a snack and an activity starting at dusk Thursday at Burroughs Park, 9738 Hufsmith Road, Tomball, and Friday at Collins Park, 6727 Cypresswood Drive, Spring.
