School is out until late August—Aug. 17 in Spring ISD and Aug. 21 in Klein ISD—and school districts now have an opportunity to complete some of the projects funded by recent bond elections.

SISD completed the purchase of a building in June that will serve as the new location for its police department and tax office. The $5 million purchase and renovation is about half the cost of a new building. SISD used the same approach to acquire a building for its Spring Early College Academy last year.

In KISD, work is wrapping up on Klein Cain High School, which will open to students in grades nine and 10 this fall.

KISD will also finish minor building improvements as well this summer, such as front entrances at Haude and Northampton elementary schools and new softball field lighting at Klein and Klein Forest high schools.

We will continue to provide updates on the districts’ bond projects this summer and throughout the next school year.
