As the university finalizes its 2018 Campus Master Plan, work on projects from the previous campus master plan is set to be complete in August.

The Pavilions, a 133-unit apartment complex in the middle of the St. Edward’s University campus, will be open for the fall semester. Renovations to the Main Building and Holy Cross Hall also should be done by August.

The new operations building, which now houses the University Police Department as well as copying facilities and postal services, opened in April on the northeast corner of campus.

Preliminary details of the future campus master plan were revealed in March showing how the private university plans to physically manage an additional 1,000 students in the next 10-20 years.

Preliminary designs include a new 550-space parking garage, sidewalks along the edges of university property and additional athletic fields.

The plan is slated to be approved by the university board sometime in the fall, according to St. Edward’s spokesperson Mischelle Diaz.
