Ghirardelli chocolate-based espresso is topped with steamed milk to make the $4 handcrafted mocha at Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee House & Bakery in the Boardwalk at Towne Lake.
“Everything we serve is high quality, brewed fresh when you order it,” owner Melinda Bodukoglu said. “We also have a full-service bakery where everything is made from scratch.”
The founder of the Land of a Thousand Hills chain was in Rwanda following a massive genocide and wanted to create a company that would offer assistance. Bodukoglu said the company is in daily communication with farmers there, and selling their products helps them build sustainable communities.
Other drink offerings include French press, Chemex and pourover coffee options, latte drinks and a variety of organic fair trade Rishi teas. The bakery serves up muffins, scones, quiches, pastries and customizable cakes for special occasions.
