1. Flyrite Chicken is celebrating its first anniversary at its
East Seventh Street location with free beer upgrades this Tuesday from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Diners must purchase any combo meal to get a free Lone Star Beer. In addition, Lone Star Beer will be sold for $1 all day.
2. Austin Community College says it will
move forward on the construction of a building that was originally slated to house technology company Rackspace at the Highland campus. No lease agreement was ever signed, and ACC said the college was "not willing to wait for [Rackspace]" to bring its business back to ACC.
3. The Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects has a new committee dedicated to women in architecture and is holding a three-week event that recognizes the achievements of female architects in Texas and beyond. Shape the Conversation begins Wednesday with an open dialogue that features Amale Andraos, the dean of the Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. 4. A South Congress Avenue nonprofit is looking for a local artist to paint a mural on its building. Business & Community Lenders of Texas is located at 2212 S. 5. Construction could be starting on Austin's roads this summer. A consultant will be hired to oversee the implementation of the voter-approved $720 million mobility bond, and Austin Mayor Steve Adler
said his first priority is giving Austinites safer routes to school.
