Hilti North America President and CEO Cary Evert announced he will retire on March 31.

Evert has served as president and CEO of Hilti North America since 2005, but has worked with Hilti for almost four decades.

“It’s been a great honor to be part of this community for nearly 37 years,” Evert said in a news release. “I have seen Hilti develop into a leader in the North American construction market and I look forward to watching Hilti North America continue to grow.”

General Manager of Hilti Canada Avi Kahn will take over Evert’s position as Hilti North America’s President and CEO. His new position will be effective Jan. 1.

Kahn was selected after an internal search of a candidate with a proven track record of success and understanding of the business, according to the release.

Starting as a territory sales representative for construction in 2004, Kahn has since been promoted to regional manager in San Diego and Hawaii, Chicago-based West Great Lakes division manage and general manager of Hilti Canada, according to the release.

The Hilti North America office is located in Plano at 7250 Dallas Parkway, Ste. 1000., and has been in Plano since June 2015.
