The holiday season is in full swing, and Georgetown offers plenty to do. Here are six things to know this holiday season.

The Harlien Family Christmas Annual Holiday Spectacular
Nov. 27- throughout the holiday season
The home in Berry Creek features a lights display, visit from Santa, treats and a singalong. Funds are being raised to support Make-A-Wish Central and South Texas. Donations can be made online or at the red mailbox on site.

‘A Tuna Christmas’
Dec. 2-30
The show follows the inhabitants of Tuna, Texas, as they try to win the annual yard-decorating contest and save their Christmas play and their sanity.

Wolf Ranch's 2nd annual holiday celebration
Dec. 10
Wolf Ranch's annual event will feature live music, christmas cookie decoration, crafts, a holiday fashion show, horse and carriage rides as well as a magical character
meet-and-greet.

Christmas Tree Recycling
Dec. 26-Jan. 14
The Williamson County Landfill accepts live Christmas trees for recycling with the follow exceptions:

  • No trees with artificial snow or tinsel

  • No trees with attached stands

  • No artificial trees

  • No trees with decoration

Blue Santa
A program of the Georgetown Police Department, Blue Santa provides toys to more than 1,500 children in Georgetown during its annual toy drive and distribution.

New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off in donation barrels in businesses and offices in Georgetown.

Monetary donations to purchase toys also are accepted. Checks to “CPAAA Blue Santa” should be sent to the Georgetown Police Department, c/o CPAAA Programs, 3500 DB Wood Road, Georgetown, TX, 78628.

The Caring Place
The Caring Place would like to collect 200,000 pounds of nonperishable food items by Dec. 31 for its Hunger Free Holidays. Participants can help by donating food items or conducting a food drive. Contact David Earl at 512-943-0700 for more information.

The Caring Place is also hosting its Coats for Kids program and asks participants to provide financial donations to buy coats for families in need with children age 18 or younger.
