Lakeway Veterans Day celebration
US Air Force Lieutenant General Herman Thomson, a fighter pilot and former Lakeway resident, is the guest speaker at this year’s Veterans Day ceremony in Lakeway. The Lakeway Police Department Color Guard and Piper Corps will present the colors and the Lake Travis High School's band and choir will perform patriotic music and military anthems. The ceremony pays tribute to 10 veterans whose names have been engraved on the city’s Spirit of Freedom Monument. Held at the Lake Travis High School Performing Arts Center, the event is hosted by the Lake Travis Standing Military Committee with help from the city of Lakeway, the Lakeway Police Department, Lake Travis ISD, members of the Lohmans Ford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Lakeway Heritage Commission.
