Incumbent Paul Workman continues to lead his challengers, Democrat Ana Jordan and Libertarian Scott McKinlay, in political donations so far this election season, according to the latest round of campaign finance reports due to election officials Monday. Every opposed candidate in the Nov. 8 election must file contributions and expenditures reports. This latest round of reports covers all financials from Sept. 30-Oct. 29, according to the Texas Ethics Commission. Here is how much donation money each candidate has earned and spent for Texas House of Representatives District 47 during that timeframe:
  • Paul Workman/Workman for Texas Specific Purpose Committee (SPAC) Campaign: $67,005 contributions, $19,515.89 expenditures
  • Ann “Ana” Jordan: $5,778 contributions, $9,853.69 expenditures
  • Scott McKinlay: $0 contributions, $0 expenditures.

Scott McKinlay did not receive any contributions during the reporting period. Jordan Albracht, campaign treasurer for McKinlay, said Oct. 12 he only filed a report July 14 that showed no contributions or expenses for the campaign and no further reports were required.
