Here are 5 things to know this week if you live in The Woodlands area. 1. Early voting for the national and local Nov. 8 elections starts today in Montgomery County. In an effort to drive more business employees to the polls, The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce will host an inaugural Business Votes Day on Thursday. The event will feature a Voting Valet service and a Party From the Polls event at 5 p.m. for those who voted. Companies can schedule times to use the valet service by contacting the chamber. 2. Bicyclists in The Woodlands will have another opportunity to provide feedback to the township’s board of directors during a public hearing at 6 p.m. Wednesday night. The township’s draft bike and pedestrian master plan has been developed over the last year and includes recommendations for future facilities or improvements. Last week, the board of directors removed all recommendations on the proposed plan that involved the use of utility easements, drainage ditches and greenbelts. 3. Several topics related to the Montgomery County animal shelter will be up for discussion and possible action during Tuesday’s Commissioner’s Court meeting. Topics include a proposed 30-day improvement plan for the shelter, the potential use of inmates in the shelter, and discussion on the euthanasia policy. 4. Ready to celebrate Halloween a little early this upcoming weekend? Four Wheels Food Fest will host Truck or Treat at Town Green Park on Sunday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. The event features more than 15 area food trucks, live music and trick or treating.
