The Austin Avenue Bridges Project's goals are to improve mobility and ensure pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular traffic along the two historic bridge structures that span the North and South San Gabriel rivers. The study began in January when City Council approved a contract with Aguirre & Fields to conduct public input meetings, environmental services and complete preliminary design alternatives.  Georgetown Transportation Analyst Nat Waggoner said the study will help the city determine how best to move forward with repairing or replacing the bridge structures.
