Harris County Precinct 4 is partnering with two new organizations to offer more senior adult programming in the northwest area of the county.
Starting this month, the program will host themed luncheons and entertainment at Copperfield Church, located at 8350 Hwy. 6 N., Houston.
“This location gives more residents the chance to attend Precinct 4 luncheons close to home,” Senior Adult Program Director Jan Sexton said in a press release. “We host luncheons for senior adults every month at one of our five partner locations, so we can serve more adults across the county.”
All senior citizens are invited to kick off the location’s first event with barbecue and a live performance by country musician Moses Rangel during the Get Acquainted Luncheon June 17 at 11:30 a.m.
The next scheduled event for Copperfield Church is Reel in the Summer Fun Luncheon featuring the Dignity Gospel Quartet Aug. 19 at 11:30 a.m. Luncheons will we planned for every other month moving forward, Sexton said.
“The new partnership is the result of the need to expand education and recreation opportunities for seniors in the area,” she said. “It’s been great working with the church. It’s a win-win situation.”
Precinct 4 will also start holding events at Cypress Creek Christian Community Center, located at 6823 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, starting with a luncheon and live music Sept. 2 at 11:30 a.m.
Other locations for luncheons this year include Lone Star College-University Park, Jersey Village Baptist Church and St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church. Monthly luncheons for seniors are also held at Big Stone Lodge, located at 709 Riley Fuzzel Road in Spring and Mangum-Howell Center, located at 2500 Frick Road in Houston.
Luncheons are open to anyone 50 years of age and older. Reservations are required by calling Harris County Precinct 4’s Senior Adult Program at 281-893-3726.
