In the past year Advanced Pain Care in Round Rock has expanded its practice to include behavioral health services, genetic testing and pharmaceutical services.
APC Marketing Director Wendy Garner said via email that the behavioral health services employ licensed clinical social workers who are trained to help patients experiencing chronic pain, such as fatigue, anxiety, anger and depression.
Garner said the genetic testing allows the facility’s providers to identify genetic predispostions to a person’s ability to metabolize certain medication, allowing APC to prescribe more effective treatments from the first appointment.
Garner said APC is launching a pharmacy in its Round Rock location in early summer. She said APC’s hope is to provide patients with a local source for patient care services such as prescription compounding, durable medical goods and specialty health care items.
“This modernized pharmacy will manage and maintain the intimacy of a neighborhood pharmacy while serving everyday health needs. Our goal is to minimize our patients’ time spent acquiring items to maximize their quality of life and let them get back to enjoying life again,” she said.
