Dr. Brian Binggeli started his role as Plano ISD’s superintendent of schools in July. He replaced Chief Financial Officer Steve Fortenberry, who served as interim superintendent after Richard Matkin retired in January 2015. Binggeli said he hopes to continue adult literacy programs and fostering diversity in schools.

He holds a doctorate from Virginia Tech in educational leadership and policy studies. He has worked in public education for 34 years and was superintendent of Brevard Public Schools in Viera, Florida.
