After opening their restaurant in February, co-owners Thomas and Jodi Groshans have quickly expanded The Crawfish Joint to meet a growing demand for crawfish and seafood in Magnolia.

“We boil almost 20,000 pounds of crawfish a month here in the store,” Thomas Groshans said. “But we’re not just a seasonal restaurant. You see a lot of places that are only open during crawfish season from January to June, but we’re open 364 days a year.”

In its first year, The Crawfish Joint has added several new menu items as well as extra tables and seating, set up a to-go window and expanded beer and wine options, Groshans said.

Even when crawfish is out of season, Groshans said the restaurant remains busy with a base of loyal customers who visit year-round.

“We have a ton of regulars,” he said. “Everyone has been very supportive. During [crawfish] season we get a lot of new people from all around, but we also have a ton of business that is repeat and loyal regular [customers].”

As the business grows, Groshans said The Crawfish Joint plans to add a patio for additional outdoor seating as well as a loyalty program for repeat customers.
