The city amended the speed limits on several of its streets in September.
Assistant City Manager Tom Word said the city conducted traffic studies on several city roads with a speed limit of 35 mph and greater that have experienced significant traffic growth.
“The speed limit for a road is based on speeds at which people drive on the roads,” Word said.
A.W. Grimes Boulevard northbound from Pflugerville Parkway to the edge of the city limits, just past SH 45 N, will increase from 35 mph to 45 mph.
Meister Lane will decrease from 45 mph to 40 mph.
Sun Light Near Way will increase from 35 mph to 40 mph from Pecan Street to Helios Way.
The city states anyone with questions about speed limits can call 512-990-6400.
