Kristen Genchur, owner of Heart & Sole Massage, purchased North Austin Massage Therapy from Janine and Greg Ray on Dec. 14.
Genchur said her original plan was to move into a bigger studio, but she said she found purchasing NAMT to be the next step in growing the business.
"We had been looking for a new space, not an entire business, but [I] really felt it was the best fit for us," Genchur said. "[North Austin Massage Therapy] has been run very similar to the way we run ours. They are passionate about serving people and customer service. It was a mutual agreement that I was the best fit for them and they were the best fit for us."
The acquisition allows Heart & Sole Massage to relocate from 12740 Research Blvd., Ste. N-8, to NAMT's larger studio at 12741 Research Blvd., Ste. 506.
Genchur said she is keeping the Heart & Sole Massage name for her business, which will open at the new location Jan. 3. The new location, she said, includes five treatment rooms and 1,000 square feet more than what Heart & Sole Massage currently has.
"We're looking to be able to provide more specialty services," she said. "By combining the therapists that I have now with the ones they have, I feel like it's my dream team. It's the people that are dedicated to take care of people and really mastering their craft."
Genchur, who opened Heart & Sole Massage in 2010, said the acquisition allows her to provide new services to clients, including specialty massages such as crossfiber corrective muscle therapy, which is intended to restore damaged muscles and soft tissue, and lymphatic drainage, which releases tension and pain to boost the immune system, she said.
