The Round Rock Crossing shopping center at the intersection of SH 45 N and I-35 will expand with about 65,000 square feet of new construction, the management company announced in November.

Britt Morrison, senior vice president of the Austin Commercial Retail Division of The Weitzman Group, which manages the property, said retailers interested in the additional space include relocations and some new stores to the Austin-Round Rock metro area.

"Round Rock has been a great, great market for us," Morrison said.

Morrison said The Weitzman Group hopes to break ground on the expansion in the second half of 2015 and expects to be finished in approximately six to nine months.

Round Rock Crossing is currently 97 percent leased, he said, which led to the expansion.

The shopping center is currently anchored by a Target.
