Austin 3-1-1 officials are counting on a recently launched phone application to become a fixture on Austin residents' smartphones.
Austin 3-1-1 provides 24-hour-per-day phone assistance to Austin residents needing access to city services. The new app, announced July 30 by city officials, allows users to make advanced service requests with an attached picture and location.
"The ability to report service requests utilizing smartphone technology expands the ease of access to city departments. Ultimately, utilization of the smartphone app aligns with Austin 3-1-1's mission to provide uncomplicated access to city services and information," according to a city of Austin written statement.
Some service requests available on the new app will be graffiti removal, wastewater report, sidewalk repair and pothole repair, according to a news release.
Residents interested in downloading the app can visit the Austin 3-1-1 website.
