FITNESS ON A BUDGET

There are many ways for Sugar Land and Missouri City residents to stay active. When working out on a budget, residents can take advantage of the city's intricate bicycle and pedestrian trail systems that link parks and fitness areas around the community.

On the weekends, select Fort Bend ISD campuses have athletic facilities, such as walking tracks and sports fields, open to the public. Whether a quick morning run or an informal game of football or soccer with friends, there are many areas where residents can exercise for free.

Local neighborhoods offer formal and informal fitness classes, such as Tai Chi, boot camp or tennis. Check with local community associations and recreation centers for a listing of locations and available sessions.

Fitness in the Plaza series

Every Friday, Sugar Land Town Square hosts Fitness in the Plaza where attendees can take part in organized group fitness classes free of charge.

9–10 a.m.—Boot Camp with John Hood

9:30–11 a.m.—Fit4Mom with Alana Chapman

10–11 a.m.—Zumba classes
