Local business owner Chad Degges has filed to run for Tomball City Council.

The position 3 was previously held by Rick Brown, who has moved outside city limits.

Degges, who owns Houston-based Heat Transfer Specialists, Inc., is a board member of the Tomball Economic Development Corporation and serves on the Tomball City Charter Revision Commission. He previously served on the Board of Adjustments with the city of Tomball.

"I've always thought good government is no accident," said Degges, who is married and has three sons. "We are very lucky to live in Tomball where we've got a very transparent, well-run government with lots of volunteers and a professional city staff. We're lucky to have this great community. I am running to continue that."
