Construction project expected to be completed in spring 2016

The Texas Department of Transportation awarded a $33.3 million contract July 3 to SEMA Construction to complete the final phase of Hwy. 195 reconstruction, from south of Ronald Reagan Boulevard to just south of CR 233.

The highway will eventually be a four-lane, divided road with a grassy median and shoulders to improve mobility and safety along the corridor between Georgetown and Killeen.

Work on the final phase, including an overpass at Ronald Reagan Boulevard, is scheduled to begin this fall. Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2016, TxDOT spokeswoman Kelli Reyna said.
