After being in business a little more than a year, no food trucks remain at the North Austin Trailer Yard.

The Purple Tongue, the last remaining food truck, left the NATY on July 8.

"I think there wasn't enough business and support, plus a lot of the trucks didn't want to come North, which I think is a mistake," said The Purple Tongue owner Aaron Marks.

The NATY opened in May 2012 with food trucks such as The Dog House, Snarky's Moo Baa Oink and Genuine Joe. The NATY, which is in the parking lot of a shopping center with the Hobby Lobby, had a fenced-in children's play area as well as a children's entertainment show on Sunday mornings. The NATY Facebook page announced July 10 that the Sunday morning children's show had been discontinued.

Marks, who opened The Purple Tongue at the NATY in June, said the food truck park "kind of fell apart" soon after he opened. The Saturday farmers market is still held at the location.

"I think there is a lot of potential for that spot, it's kind of up for grabs," Marks said.

The Purple Tongue's new location should be announced on the food truck's Facebook page by next week, Marks said.
