Grapevine Craft Brewery is breaking ground this week in downtown Grapevine and plans to be at Main Street Days with samples May 17-19, co-owner Gary Humble said.

Four brews are ready: Lakefire, a rye pale ale; Monarch, a classic American wheat; Sir William's, an English brown ale; and NightWatch, a dry oatmeal stout.

Humble said samples will be at Main Street Days for three hours sometime Saturday, May 18 — the time is yet to be determined.

The brewery also has a contest: Post photos of construction at the brewery, 924 Jean St., on their Facebook page. The post that gets the most shares by May 31 will get "a full on swag package with every bit of merch that we have available," according to their newsletter.

Watch the Facebook page for details on the progress of Grapevine's first microbrewery — Humble said opening is planned for September.

The brewery also is conducting a fundraising campaign at join.grapevineontap.com. Humble said if they can raise $50,000 to complete work on the brewery through the online campaign, they will donate five percent of profits to the community every quarter. He said GRACE in Grapevine will receive 5 percent of the total.
