Frontage roads and the main lanes of the intersection of MoPac and West Hwy. 290 in Oak Hill will be closed Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. until construction there is completed the following morning.

Don Nyland, Texas Department of Transportation engineer, said drivers will be able to travel on the northbound frontage road and turn right at the eastbound road in front of Walmart, but they will have to navigate around West Hwy. 290. He recommended drivers take William Cannon Drive as a detour.

"We're going to be pouring the big deck across the steel beams that go all the way across 290," he said. "It'll be a mess for awhile, but this is the only weekend that we don't have a football game here in town, at least UT's game, so we've got to get it done this weekend."

Construction will be canceled if it rains, he said.
