A town hall meeting is scheduled for next week at Cross Timbers Middle School in Grapevine to seek input on the public school finance system.
The Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District and state Rep. Vicki Truitt, R-Keller, are hosting the public meeting to discuss challenges about the state's public education funding for area schools.
In March, Truitt and state Sen. Jane Nelson, R-Flower Mound, were appointed to a school finance committee that will study the funding stucture for public schools between sessions. They will join 20 others on the committee and will make education funding recommendations to state lawmakers during the 2013 legislative session.
The meeting will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1 at Cross Timbers Middle School at 2301 Pool Road in Grapevine.
