In September, the Texas Department of Transportation held a ribbon cutting for the completion of the $5.7 million RR 2222 bridge over Bull Creek at the Capital of Texas Hwy.

The bridge, which had been under construction since October 2009, is 19 feet higher than the previous bridge and should accomodate traffic even during heavy rain—the former bridge was often shut down due to flooding.

Hwy. 71 continues to see construction between Hwy. 290 and Spicewood for added safety improvements. A 3-mile stretch between R.O. Drive and Bee Creek Road is getting a center lane and is expected to be completed in September.

An intersection improvement project at Serene Hills Drive is expected to go to contract by August 2013.

Barton Creek bridge repairs are complete on the southbound side, and paving on the northbound side is expected to be complete in April.

Design work has begun on a center turn lane near PromiseLand West Church.
