On June 16, New Caney ISD trustees approved a construction contract for the district’s new administration building, which is expected to cost $56 million.

Gamma Construction was selected for the administration building’s construction contract in a unanimous vote by trustees—with board President Creg Mixon and Assistant Secretary Angela Tompkins absent. Gamma Construction is based in Houston—according to the business’s website—and has been used by NCISD for other projects, including a $21 million athletics facility planned for New Caney High School.
District leaders took bids for the contract during the week of June 9, receiving offers from 10 interested companies, said Richard Ressler, director of facilities and planning for NCISD, before the vote.
