New Caney ISD leaders name newest elementary school

New Caney ISD’s 13th elementary school will be called Crossroads Elementary School, and construction is slated to begin in November at the site.

In a nutshell

Construction on Crossroads Elementary, a $44 million campus, is expected to be completed in late spring or summer 2028, as previously reported by Community Impact. The school will be 110,000 square feet and two stories tall.

Crossroads Elementary will be located along Ford Road, at the site of the former Porter Elementary campus, NCISD Director of Facilities and Planning Richard Ressler said during the regular Oct. 19 board meeting. The school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2028.

Diving deeper

On Oct. 19, trustees unanimously approved a contract with Gamma Construction to build the school. 

Bids on the project were taken on Oct. 13, Ressler said. 

An inquiry for more information on the project was pending with NCISD as of press time on Oct. 22. This story will be updated if more data is provided.
