Chef Tiffany Derry, the woman behind Private Social in Dallas, will open Roots Chicken Shak—“my love letter to the South,” Derry said. The restaurant, located at Legacy Hall, 7800 Windrose Ave., Plano, will use a French technique for its duck-fat fried chicken. Roots Chicken Shak will also serve chicken sandwiches and chicken salads, as well as duck-fat fried french fries.
