Updated: The gallery is now expected to close Aug. 15. The date was pushed back for more time to organize, said Dahlia.

Original: Located at 232 N. LBJ Drive, San Marcos, Dahlia Woods Gallery is set to close July 27, with invitation-only socials July 28 and Aug. 11 to sell any remaining items.

"San Marcos city codes enforcement has required major renovations in order to keep Pinky’s Wine Bar open," gallery owner Dahlia Woods said. "The wine bar is essential to selling art here, and I can't afford to meet the requirements in order to keep the bar open along with the gallery."

Director of Neighborhood Services Jeff Caldwell oversees animal services, environmental health, code compliance and the Park Ranger Program in San Marcos. Caldwell said the wine bar could not continue without necessary food and health permits and procedures.

Woods, a San Marcos resident, first opened the gallery in 2015, featuring her work and works of local artists along with her husband's independent bookstore, Bad Boy Books. She plans to sell the building, which includes three apartments above the gallery.

"Stay tuned for the next adventure," Dahlia said on the gallery's Facebook page.
