After 45 years of business in Round Rock, Dr. E. Wade McLeod of McLeod Animal Clinic, located at 2019 N. Mays St., Round Rock, will retire at the end of September.

"We have loved Round Rock," McLeod said. "It has been so good to us."

McLeod opened the clinic in July of 1973 and was the first veterinarian and first animal clinic in Round Rock.

"I had been working in Austin and heard about this neat little town north of Austin that didn't have a vet, so we came out," McLeod said.

A gathering is planned in front of the clinic from noon until 2 p.m. Sept. 22 for patients and community members to say goodbye to McLeod.

Dr. Lindsay Riddick purchased the clinic and will continue to operate it under the name Dogwood Animal Clinic. 512-255-2547.
