Public charter school Gateway College Preparatory School is expanding its nine-year-old campus at 3360 Westinghouse Road, Georgetown, with several new buildings and amenities.

Construction work includes a 13,000-square-foot Elementary Learning Center to serve students in kindergarten through fourth grade; a 13,000-square-foot Middle School Learning Center with science labs and collaborative learning spaces to serve students in fifth grade through eighth grade; and a 19,000-square-foot gymnasium. The expansion will also include a courtyard connecting the buildings, improvements to a soccer and lacrosse field, and improvements to parking areas and campus access roads.

The $18.5 million project, which is the school’s third phase of site development and construction, should be complete by January 2019. With the expansion, the Gateway school will accommodate 1,200 students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The Gateway school is a tuition-free public charter school accredited by the Texas Education Agency. The school is operated by Orenda Education of Georgetown, which owns four other schools in Central Texas. 512-868-4947. www.gatewaycps.org
