Girl Scout Luci Thompson of Troop 812 funded and researched content for two historical signs at the Bull Creek Greenbelt Park, 7806 N. Capital of Texas Hwy.
Luci worked with the Bull Creek Foundation, Austin Parks and Recreation Department and the Travis County Historical Commission to install the signs and research information. One sign provides detail about Native Americans who lived and camped along Bull Creek, and the other sign includes information on Walden Mill, which was a lumber mill that operated along Bull Creek in the mid-1800s.
The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony and historical hike Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. at the park. Parking is available along the access road to the park.
