Engineering work is still underway for a project to improve the intersection of Hardin Store Road and Hwy. 249, Montgomery County Precinct 2 Commissioner Charlie Riley said in a Nov. 9 interview.

“Hopefully by the early part of next year, we’ll have construction undergoing on that project,” Riley said.

In a nutshell

After this project is completed, the intersection at Hardin Store Road and Hwy. 249 will be a true 90-degree intersection, Riley said.

“There’s [going to be] three new lanes, widening of the lanes and aligning the intersection,” Riley said.

Riley said this project is being funded with toll road revenue and is anticipated to cost between $7 million to $10 million.
