Work on a 10-month project to update and expand the Tomball Regional Medical Center emergency department is complete.

TRMC CEO Tom Jackson announced the opening of the ER expansion during the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce First Friday Luncheon Jan. 8.

The project added 3,100 square feet to the existing facility, creating room for seven additional private patient rooms, two dedicated trauma rooms and an expanded parking lot and lobby.

“The redesign and expansion of our emergency department provides the community with the increased capacity and efficiency this growing community needs,” Jackson said. “The upgraded facility is a reflection of our commitment to quality patient-centered care.”

TRMC is also working toward attaining designation as a Level III Trauma Center, which will allow the facility to accept and treat patients with significant injuries.

More information about trauma designations and TRMC updates can be found in our November health care story here.
