During its March 4 meeting, Tomball City Council approved as part of the consent agenda—on which items are approved with one motion without discussion—the parks, recreation and trails master plan, which outlines $108 million in projects for the city.
The context
City Council approved the creation of the master plan in December 2022, with a focus group approved last February. In April, the city held an open house to collect feedback and comments about Tomball’s parks, recreation and trails.
In a nutshell
The $108 million in projects outlined in the master plan includes:
- $63.95 million in new projects
- $41.7 million in revitalization projects
- $2.52 million in enhancement projects
What else?
The city is already underway with a project to replace the playground at Martin Luther King Jr. Park and install pickleball courts and a splashpad at Matheson Park, according to prior reporting.
