At its Sept. 18 meeting, Tomball City Council unanimously approved an agreement with B & C Constructors LP for a not-to-exceed amount of $355,312.26 to complete further improvements to Matheson Park.
At the meeting, Public Works Director Drew Huffman said the improvements laid out in the agreement include:
- Construction of four pickleball courts
- New fencing around the swimming pool
- Site work for the new loop trail
Huffman also said the city will partner with Harris County Precinct 3 to pave the loop trail.
Zooming out
On top of the improvements laid out in the approved agreement, a new playground was installed at Matheson Park in April.
City Council also previously approved:
- The purchase and construction of the splash pad at its May 15 meeting
- The purchase and installation of baseball netting at its Aug. 21 meeting
- An agreement to repair the swimming pool at its Sept. 5 meeting
In total, improvements to Matheson Park are set to cost $2.37 million, according to the city’s website.
