The Wheel Kitchen in Tomball offers a seasonal hot apple cider that features a variety of locally grown fruits and spices.

Co-owner Thelma Ubeda adds fresh apple slices and pomegranate to a brew of orange, pineapple, apple and lavender to make the apple cider ($5). The warm drink is served in a Mason jar with fruit garnishes floating at the top.

“We use whatever [type of] apples are at the [farmers] market,” Ubeda said.

She and her husband, Dennis, serve healthy food options, which change weekly according to available ingredients. Ubeda said while all food and drink options feature locally sourced ingredients, many ingredients are also organic.

The Wheel Kitchen also offers other hot drinks, such as organic coffee and an eggnog cappuccino ($5.10) that includes cinnamon, freshly ground nutmeg, cream and the yolk of an organic, cage-free egg.
