A new community totaling more than 700 homes is expected to get underway in 2022, following the purchase of 221 acres of land along FM 1488 in Magnolia by Empire Continental Land, a division of Empire Communities, according to a Feb. 2 press release. The new community is planned near FM 1488 and Iron Ore Road, which is west of FM 1774.

“Magnolia is a growing area and this location can quickly access State Highway 249 and the Grand Parkway,” Empire Continental Land President Steve Sellers said in the release. “We’re looking forward to expanding into this part of the Greater Houston market and developing a signature community that will set a trend for development in this area.”

With home construction beginning next year, the Magnolia community will be Empire's sixth Houston-area development and eighth development in Texas. Empire Communities is also actively developing Dellrose in Hockley, Coastal Point and Hidden Lakes in League City, and Katy Trails in Katy. According to its website, Empire Communities also has homes available in Reserve at Spring Lakes, located on Zion Road in Tomball.
