Construction on the Kuykendahl Road bridge will require a temporary one-lane road closure from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Jan. 31-Feb. 3.
The $6 million project is a joint effort between Montgomery and Harris counties to mitigate congestion by constructing a dual bridge over Spring Creek. Upon completion, the project will widen the bridge from two to four lanes.
The lane closure is necessary to enable construction workers to set the beams for the second portion of the bridge. As a precaution for the lane closure, static warning signs will be installed at the intersections of Kuykendahl Road and Flintridge Drive north of the bridge, and Kuykendahl Road and Timarron Drive to the south.
Flagmen and police officers will also be used to direct traffic during the lane closure.
Construction on the project began in October and is expected to be complete by late July, according to Montgomery County Precinct 3.
